Nonprofit Law: Sponsoring

Sponsoring is nowadays of significant importance for nonprofit organizations. Many nonprofit organizations from the varies parts of the third sector have already built up strong partnerships with companies and use the means of sponsoring as a new financing tool in addition to collecting donations and membership fees.

Supported by our cooperating partners, we aim at accomplishing two goals with our work: First, the sponsors' money must provide the individual charitable organization with all necessary means to conduct a successful business, and secondly, the individual sponsor's financial burden should be relieved as best as possible, so that, at the end of the sponsoring process, the individual sponsor will be relieved at least in part from his financial obligations. When both goals are met, charitable organizations are able to further strengthen their already existing partnerships with sponsors; also, charitable organizations will find it a lot easier to attract new sponsors for their goals in the future.

“Corporate trading”, as this innovative sponsoring model in the third sector is generally called in the US, has found its way from the US to the German sponsoring market. We, as a law firm, dedicate our work especially to those nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs who receive one-off or periodic payments from an individual sponsor above the sum of 250,000 EUR.
