In
light of declining financial support from the state and a visibly
stronger struggle with the fundraising market in Germany, both
large and small German nonprofit organizations are increasingly
opening up in the nonprofit market of the USA. Through grants
from foundations, private individuals, businesses and trusts,
the U.S. civil society makes available every year more than
6.5 billion dollars in grants for charitable projects outside
of the USA.
So far, due to legal and practical reasons, these disbursements
usually do not benefit German organizations. With the correct
legal strategy, however, access to the grant money in the USA
can be obtained for German nonprofit organizations. Winheller
