Morgan Hangartner

Attorney at Law (California, USA)

Attorney at Law Morgan Hangartner works for WINHELLER as U.S. legal counsel, with a focus on U.S. contract law, U.S. corporate law, U.S. immigration, U.S. tax law and U.S. naturalization law. He conducts legal evaluations and advises and manages the formation of U.S. companies, in particular corporations (Inc.) and Limited Liability Companies (LLCs), for our European clients. When drafting incorporation documents, he also works closely with our international tax team to ensure optimal tax outcomes.

A key aspect of his work is providing advice and counsel to German and European corporate clients regarding U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law. As a member of our US-Desk, Morgan Hangartner advises on U.S. visa options and assists with the entire U.S. visa process – from strategic planning, application drafting and submission, to visa issuance and compliance with U.S. labor law, including employment eligibility regulations (e.g. I-9 Compliance). Because his work regularly involves multi-jurisdictional legal issues, he works closely with our worldwide network of attorneys, in particular our partner firms in the U.S.

Morgan Hangartner is admitted to the State Bar of California as an Attorney and Counselor of Law. As a member of the Bar Association of Berlin (Rechtsanwaltskammer Berlin) he is also authorized to work as a U.S. Attorney at Law in Germany and provide legal counsel and representation in all U.S. legal matters. Furthermore, he acts as co-counsel for clients dealing with U.S. legal matters – including initial case evaluations, selection of local U.S.-based attorneys and ongoing advice and counsel during negotiations and litigation.

Morgan Hangartner received his law degree from the Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA). He also received a Master of Arts in Euroculture from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and German from the University of California, Davis. Prior to his employment with WINHELLER, Mr. Hangartner worked as an Attorney with one of the most renowned U.S. law firms in its Frankfurt office, as a Consultant with a service provider for U.S. visas, and as the Director of Legal Services at a nonprofit social services agency in San Francisco, California (USA).
