Her main fields in business law include the advice of national and international clients on contract law (including the law of General Terms and Conditions (T&C) as well as the design and negotiation of national and international general agreements) and M&A transactions. She particularly focuses on data protection, IT and IP issues.
In addition to her consultancy work in business law, Nikola Werry comprehensively supports companies in IT projects and in the conception of IT contracts (e.g. sharing platforms, cybersecurity, online tools and applications). She also advises in the field of data protection law, in particular with regard to the General Data Protection Regulation. In the area of IP law, she regularly prepares legal opinions and comprehensive contracts (including license, trademark, competition and copyright agreements) and creates template contracts for the operating businesses of our German and international clients.
Nikola Werry has gained several years of experience in international business law firms (e.g. in Washington D.C., USA). Before joining WINHELLER, she worked in the legal department of an international "Big Four" auditing company. She therefore has valuable knowledge in the fields of risk management & compliance, as well as in the design of policies and guidelines. Our clients especially appreciate her extensive experience in negotiating as well as her juridically sharp, but pragmatic and business-oriented approach. Additionally, as a renowned lecturer she regularly gives seminars as well as in-house trainings. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of Passau for IT law and e-commerce.
Nikola Werry studied law at Trier University and the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer with a focus on business law. At Trier University, she also passed the additional training in International Law Studies (FFA) in Anglo-American law. After completing her first state examination, she completed a Master's degree at the University of East Anglia in Norwich (UK) in the area of IT/IP and data protection, where she graduated as one of the best students of the year.
