Dr. Annette Wagemann comprehensively advises companies and their managers on questions regarding business law and banking regulations. At WINHELLER, she is specialized in the legal structuring of business models, corporate governance and compliance, and especially in (blockchain-based) business models that require a BaFin license. She is also lecturer of the 'Excellence Program for Supervisory Boards' at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
In addition, she is responsible for management tasks as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in renowned companies (i.a. from the financial sector) since 2002. In this function, she advises managements on strategic decisions and corporate governance. She has gained comprehensive and interdisciplinary experience in the conception and establishment as well as further development of compliance management systems (CMS) with a focus on financial supervision, securities law and corporate law, as well as on contract and supplier management, including antitrust law.
After starting her professional career at a leading German insurance company, Dr. Annette Wagemann worked as a lawyer in the tax department of a renowned law firm in Frankfurt/Main. In the area of corporate planning for a bank, she acquired extensive expertise in strategic consulting and implementation of business models in connection with supervisory law, corporate law and tax law. She was responsible for setting up the legal and tax department as well as for the compliance management systems for listed companies, and contributes to their strategic orientation.
She studied law at the University of Mannheim and obtained her doctorate in international insurance contract law with Prof. Dr. Egon Lorenz. For her doctoral thesis, she was awarded a prize of actuarial science.
Dr. Annette Wagemann is an accredited lawyer since 1996.
