Frankfurt / Main, 19 November 2018 – WINHELLER has successfully advised cybersecurity expert Kape Technologies plc at the purchase of ZenGuard GmbH in Berlin.
ZenGuard operates a multi-platform security software business named “ZenMate”. It focuses on the provision of virtual private network (VPN) solutions, which are encrypting and securing internet connections to protect personal privacy and digital data.
Kape, based on the Isle of Man, acquired the entire issued share capital of ZenGuard from a number of venture capital funds and private investors, including the founders of the business. The acquisition was realized at the amount EUR 4.8 million in cash.
As a cybersecurity company, Kape is focused on supporting consumers around the world protecting their personal data. In order to do this, Kape develops and distributes a variety of software products in the online security space, utilising its proprietary digital distribution technology to optimize its customer reach. Kape Technologies plc shares are traded on the AIM section of the London Stock Exchange.
